Interior of dome and lantern/cupola.  Cross, hexagonal, and octagonal dome coffering very similar to that in the apses of the ancient Roman Pantheon.  From a 1981 postcard by Terni?. Side view of the double shelled central dome with cupola on top.  The Brunelleschi designed cupola was finally added in 1446. Front elevation showing cupola on a Baroque tower that mostly conceals the dome inside.
