View of the Ruins from the Trail Below Sinagua Indian farmers were the architects of this amazing fortress like cliff dwelling, completed in the early 1200s. The ruins are open to the public for viewing at a distance only. Their fragile state has kept the Park Service from allowing closer inspection. Photograph taken in 1991 by Howard J. Partridge.
