St. John's Episcopal Church (page 3 of 3)
Port Window Detail - West Elevation The way that architect Ernest Coxhead wraps shingles around this 1891 church is positively inspired. He contours them carefully to delight the eye, emphasizing openings, softening edges, and providing a strong continuity of surface. The sinuous curves and segmented lines that result bear a certain resemblance to the paintings of Vincent Van Gogh. Photograph taken in 2000 by Howard J. Partridge.
