Rear Tower and Entrance
First Congregational Church in Alameda, California

Daniel F. Oliver made a theme of the pointed Gothic arch in this handsome church design, built in 1904.  It appears in many of the windows, the doors, and even the dramatic roofline.  Oliver handled the entire composition with exceptional skill and panache.  Photograph taken in the spring of 2002 by Howard J.
