General View from the Northwest
David Greenleaf House in Alameda, California
With its clustered and irregular forms, swooping overhangs, and
rustic shingled exterior, one might expect to find this 1891 house in an
East Coast seaside resort. It certainly is an excellent example of
the Shingle Style on the West Coast. It is most likely the creation
of Ernest Coxhead. Photo taken in 2002 by Howard J. Partridge.
