A fire on September 8, 1928 gutted the fourth floor and central tower of the Old Washington State Capitol.  This historic photograph of the conflagration is part of the Washington Localities Photograph Collection in the Digital Collection at the University of Washington Libraries.  It is referenced as: Manuscripts, Special Collections, University Archives, University of Washington Libraries, UW4881.  It appears here on the Cupola site with the gracious permission of the Curator of Photographs and Graphics at the UW Libraries.  Other uses or copies of this image require specific authorization from the University of Washington Libraries.
