California State Capitol Building (interior page 8 of 8)

Portrait of Jerry Brown on 3rd floor of the California State Capitol Building. Photo by Howard J. Partridge.

Governor Edmund Gerald "Jerry" Brown Jr. Portrait
California State Capitol in Sacramento, California

Artist Don Bachardy painted this likeness of Jerry Brown in 1984.  Showing a Neo-Expressionist influence, the work is the most modern portrait to appear in the gallery of California governors to date.  Certainly it is the most arty of the lot.  It hangs, along with those of more recent governors, near the top of grand stair on the third floor.  Photograph by Howard J. Partridge taken in April, 2006.
