Villa Hvitträsk (page 4 of 7)
Side View of the Eliel Saarinen House Saarinen's house takes a cue from traditional Finnish rural architecture in both its forms and its materials. Like other Arts and Crafts designs, it is at once both rustic and sophisticated. It certainly would have been the antithesis of the Neoclassical and Victorian architecture that had become so popular in the decades before its construction from 1901 to 1904.
