Oblique Front Elevations
Row Houses in Antwerp, Belgium

The buildings to the left and center of this image are both works of architect Jacques De Weerdt.  They were built in 1913.  The four story building in the center combines Art Nouveau with Flemish Baroque elements.  Its neighbor to the left features some rather subdued Art Nouveau detailing.  The three story building with the delightful domed-covered bartizan on the right takes its design cues from the French Renaissance.  The architect of that is not yet identified, but it probably dates from the same period as its neighbors.  All three reside in the Cogels-Osy Lei area of Antwerp's Zurenborg District.  Photo taken in 1982 by Howard J. Partridge.
